The process

How it works

Three steps, from wondering whether something is wrong to having advice in writing.

  1. Book a time

Pick a slot that suits you from the online calendar. No phone tag, no waiting room.

  2. Meet by video

A 30 minute video consult with Dr Sarah Webb. Have your bird, and a few basics, to hand.

  3. Get it in writing

A full written report by email within 24 hours. Free, and yours to keep for any vet you see next.

What you get

What you walk away with

Every consultation is built around one question: what do you do next?

  • Know if it can wait. Whether that quiet, puffed up hen needs a vet tonight, or can safely wait until morning.
  • A feed and housing plan that fits your setup. Not generic advice. Advice for your coop, your birds and your climate, covering feeding, housing and day to day management.
  • A written report within 24 hours. Free, yours to keep, and ready to hand to any vet you see next. It doubles as a health record for your flock.
  • An honest answer about limits. If your bird needs hands on examination or a specialist, you are told on the call, not after paying.

From day old chicks to a laying flock, the questions change but the approach does not: work out what is actually going on, then tell you plainly what to do about it.

Services offered

  • Peace of mind health checks
  • Husbandry management suggestions
  • Day old vaccinations: contact me for details
    Subject to availability
  • Veterinary consult checks
    Limited diagnoses by video

Consultations are by video, so diagnoses are limited by what can be assessed on screen. Where a bird needs hands on examination or testing, I will refer you on.

About

Dr Sarah Webb

Mixed Practice Veterinarian

Bachelor of Veterinary Science (BVSc) / Bachelor of Veterinary Biology (BVBio)

My passion for animal health extends beyond traditional pets. I have a special interest in poultry, complemented by further study in backyard poultry care.

Whether you're a seasoned farmer or a first time chicken owner, I'm here to provide comprehensive care and advice for your feathered friends.

My approach

I offer peace of mind services for your backyard poultry, designed to provide valuable support and guidance through video consultation.

  • Peace of mind health checks: A comprehensive assessment of your flock’s overall health and wellbeing, so you know where you stand.
  • Husbandry management suggestions: Tailored advice on feeding, housing and environmental management to optimise your poultry’s health.
  • Veterinary consult checks: Initial veterinary assessments to identify potential health concerns. As a mixed practice veterinarian rather than an avian specialist, I can offer only limited diagnoses; further examination and testing may require referral to a specialised veterinary clinic in your region.

Before you book

Questions, answered

The things flock owners ask before they book.

How much does a consultation cost?
$50 for a standard 30 minute appointment, including a full written report by email within 24 hours.
How long is the appointment?
A standard appointment is 30 minutes long.
Who will I be meeting?
Dr Sarah Webb, Mixed Practice Veterinarian. Bachelor of Veterinary Science (BVSc) / Bachelor of Veterinary Biology (BVBio).
How do I book my appointment?
Use any of the booking buttons on this page to pick a time from the online calendar. You will receive a confirmation with the video link.
Do I need to live near a vet clinic?
No. Consultations are by video, so you can book from anywhere in Australia, whether city, regional or remote. Dr Webb is Australian registered, so the advice on local conditions, parasites and regulations applies wherever you keep your flock.
What should I have ready before the call?
Gloves, a thermometer, the device for the video call, and if possible weighing scales. Having your chicken somewhere like the laundry, with good reception, good lighting and room to assess them.
Can you diagnose my chicken over video?
Within limits. As a mixed practice veterinarian rather than an avian specialist, I can offer only limited diagnoses over video. If your bird needs hands on examination or testing, you will be told on the call, and referred to a specialist avian vet or a full service clinic.
Do I get anything in writing afterwards?
Yes. A full written report by email within 24 hours. It is free, it is yours to keep, and it is ready to hand to any vet you see next.

Important disclaimer

Please note that I am a mixed practice veterinarian rather than an avian specialist. The information and services provided are for general guidance and peace of mind. For complex or serious health issues, referral to a specialist avian veterinarian or a full service veterinary clinic is always recommended.
